The concluding episode follows a mission with competing mandates: to bring a child into being — and to redefine what family might mean. So far: [M] has donated sperm in North Carolina, framing the act as tantric devotion. His non-genetically related cousin L. has relocated to New York. Despite doubts about bringing a child into a war-driven world — and a recent breakup — she proceeds toward parenthood through a reproductive clinic. Because [M]’s sperm cannot cross state lines, he must appear in person in New York to deposit again. From Germany, Cordula monitors developments, calibrating timelines and hoping conception might precede the official end of her research project. But the real fault lines are conceptual. [M] resists the paternal role. L rejects the two-parent model. Cordula questions the realities of single motherhood. What counts as a father? And does single motherhood dismantle the family — or privatize it further? What new alliances might take its place?

The three-part audio mini-series outerwoman by writer-artist Cordula Daus is developed in collaboration with performance artist [M] Dudeck. It centres on the question of Kinderwunsch — the desire to have children — understood here not as a private feeling, but as something regulated through cultural imaginaries, norms and contested conditions of access. Working with autobiographical material, the series grapples with how to process reality while it is happening, moving between satire and sincerity, field notes, game structures, and lived consequence.
